BOHOL/Panglao Island

Ok. I have to get this, cause I still didn't recover: After planning my trip with Raymund, I had to get up 5am on Wednesday morning, catch my flight to Bohol. I was picked up at the airport and arrived at the resort - the most beautiful place I've ever seen in my life. As I am stepping out of my hotelroom, I stand at a 4km white beach with palmtrees, brightblue sea and - nobody. As it is rainy season, hardly any tourists are here. But it is not raining, that's the great thing, it is sunshine all day, it rains in the early morninghours and at night. PERFECT!!! Wow - this is like Paradise here. This morning I went running at the beach, after that jump into the sea....having breakfast, then have my first diving course! Alone of course :-) I had to practise in the pool first, then we rode out by boat. We dived 40 minutes and I was smashed. This is so beautiful, incredibly amazing, just absolutely stunning what I saw down there. I saw Nemo!!! and I saw thousands of beautifully coloured fishes, corals and other species I had no idea what they were.....and was a bit afraid, but as you can;t talk down there I couldn't scream 'iiih' and so Jigo (my dive teacher) wanted me to touch it......oh god.well, I survived and I love it and I will go Sat again. Tomorrow I'll do a tour to the Chocolate Hills and a Cruise on the Loboc River.
People here are so friendly, everbody wants to marry me since they found out that I am alone here...:-) Well, I gotta think about that. It is funny how surprised they are when they find out that I am travelling alone, they can hardly believe it, but they are even nicer now - propably they feel sorry and think I do not have any friends....:-)
On Sunday I fly back to Manila and try to catch the nightbus to Luzon, 10 hours.....

Ok.

Arrival / Ankunft

I am here! huu! First step done. Bravo Lucie! :-) Well, the flight was great, though I was sitting in the middle of a huge indian family on my way from Zuerich to Dubai, which was a bit difficult then to take a nap, but at least I sat on the window and I was so deadly tired and knocked out I even had to force myself to stay awake for meals. In Dubai I had to wait 3 hours for my next flight and found an English chap and so we wasted our time together by chatting in the cafe. Once arrived, it was just all very hectic and these small Philippine-persons move, talk and walk so quickly, loud and hectic, I all of a sudden feel the need to stay calm....:-) After picking up my luggange and finding my way out of this mess I waited for somebody from the organisation to pick me up, but nobody turned up - well, I also would think about picking me up considering the weight of my bagpacker (19,6kg) .....But as the policemen saw me there standing waiting and looking out, they came and asked me if I am lost (am I this transparent??? got to practise my pokerface) - well, I admitted, YES I AM LOST and the organised a taxi for me which brought me to my hotel in Quezon City. In this city I am the one and only European and people look at me if I was insane, alien, VIP or anything other unusal species. So today I will meet somebody from the organisation to give them all the medcine and presents I brought and to plan my trip. I would like to fly to Palawan tomorrow to do some island hopping by boat and scuba diving, judihui!! Ocean, I am coming!!

Ich bin da! Bravo Lucie! Erster Schritt vollbracht.

Preparations

1.) SAMPLE OF ONE OF THE NUMEROUS BEACHES FROM ROMBLON

2.)SAMPLE OF A HOME ON ROMBLON (Place wher I will work)

Today is May 24th and it is only 51/2 weeks to go. Hm, I am getting excited but very slowly. I am fairly in time with my preps, gotta go one last time to the tropical institute to do these awful vaccinations, and especially go shopping (I like the fact that I HAVE to go shopping! Cool. ) I need a bagpacker, I need suncream (you know, I'll be going to spend lots of days at the beach....) , comfortable pants, shoes, a sleepinbag, medis, a bandanna as I guess Filipinos are not that used to blonde women... Flight, trip is paid, they got my criminal report (thanks god, I am NOT criminal! yes, I was surprised as well, don't look like that.) What else? Sweet little Benjamin will spend this time two streets away from home at Sandra's place which I am perfectly happy with. Pending is still the rent of my flat, but I had somebody visiting yesterday who is interested. Cross fingers! Got to collect some english books for the kiddies there as written books are very rare. God, I hope I even get there. Got to change in Dubai. I might get lost...no, that would be very untypical for me, wouldn't it....? :-)
